2. Sourcing Timber for Lock Gates

Canal lock gates are traditionally made from high density timber, we specialise in using Opepe, Ekki and Greenheart, all of which originate in Western Africa.

These types of timbers are commonly used for sea defence projects, railway sleepers and large timber builds and is therefore ideal for outdoor use and canal lock gate manufacture.

Through our timber supplier we ensure the quality of the wood used in our gates is of the highest standard.

All of the timber used in our gates is Forest Stewardship Council* (FSC) Certified.
